Dressing Down in Madrid

Hello, it’s been a long time since I’ve written something. I recently took a trip overseas to Madrid to help my mother out with her book. When I was studying abroad I spent all the time I could in Madrid. I fell in love with the city. There is something about it that makes me feel at home, challenged, in love and independent at the same time. The street style is amazing and the city has a very interesting vibe. On a day off I took the time to walk around the most beautiful part of Madrid, “El Parque Del Retiro” which is an amazing park in the center of the busy city. It has coffee shops, places to lie around in the grass, beautiful trees and this very special sculpture overlooking a manmade lake where you can rent boats and paddle around. I know what you’re thinking: this is the perfect date spot. As fate would have it, I have never been on a date there, And I have been there many times.

I love this structured sweatshirt I got at Topshop a while ago. It’s black (obviously) and has a patent leather structured front which I absolutely love, it makes it so edgy. I chose to wear it over a plain white button down. I was very picky in choosing what button down to wear since I tend to look frumpy in many things. I think the cut worked perfectly.
