What In The World Are We Supposed To Do Without Carrie Bradshaw?

It seems like it was yesterday when the world was entranced with Carrie Bradshaw’s unique fashion sense graced the screen. It may not feel like it, but it was premiered 18 years ago. The Sex and The City influenced our shopping habits and fantasies until 12 years ago, launching into major motion pictures that gave us our Carrie Bradshaw outfit fix. The influence that Carrie Bradshaw had over fashion crazed men and women is unparalleled in the small screen world. So, without our Mrs. Big, what are we supposed to do?

  1. Gossip Girl

It may be an oldie, but it’s a goodie. The Sex and The City women’s style was made iconic thanks to the flame haired fashion icon, Patricia Field. It makes sense that the new fashionistas on the block have been styled by Patricia Field’s protégée, Eric Daman. All the characters had their own iconic outfits and were faithful to their personal style. Gossip Girl has been off the air for a couple of years but can still be binge watched on Netflix.

  1. Scandal

Olivia Pope is the iron fist behind all of Washington and has the president of the United States of America by the um, reigns. So, it’s no surprise that Olivia’s sense of style oozes class, sophistication and most importantly of all, power. The most important garment someone can wear to exude power and confidence is a jacket. Olivia Pope dazzles in designer outerwear in almost any episode. It is no surprise that we wonder, why isn’t she is the president of the United States of America.

  1. The Mindy Project

Mindy Lahiri is a quirky Manhattan doctor who like most of us is looking for love in all the wrong places. Mindy Kaling’s character in this hilarious show is funny, sweet and super relatable. Her style is outgoing, loud and vibrant. What is important about this character is that she uses many prints and loud colors, something that is very rare among curvier women. As a curvy woman I tend to stay on the neutral side of things and swear by all black everything. Mindy Lahiri once said, “The only black thing I own is my Catwoman costume!”, which is very refreshing. She’s been called a piñata by her coworkers but I think she looks amazing.

  1. Mad Men

Don Draper’s good looks aren’t the only reason I tune in to this tv drama. The ladies of the show serve up some amazing retro looks that make us long for the times when dressing up was a daily occurrence and your hair could look like a fruit plate and you could still be cool. Mad Men’s style was so popular that Banana Republic made a capsule collection that became very popular.

  1. Empire

Cookie Lyons is definitely one of our alter egos. Who wouldn’t want to strut in her fur coats with that attitude? Her chic urban style has captured the hearts of many, inspiring woman to dress up with that “bad ass” attitude and look. Her over the top fashion has made her style very memorable and imitated
